Mark Slater

Music runs in the family. Mark's father has been a professional conductor most of his life and started Mark at the age of 5 with the cello and piano. Mark was also a Chorister at Christ Church Cathedral Choir, Oxford, where he was fortunate to experience the highest standards of music making, studio recording, film, TV and radio broadcasts.

Immersed in this environment, Mark naturally began composing. Music took him on scholarship to Oakham School, one of the oldest schools in England and played a big part of his life while at the University of Southampton. In 1998, Mark gained a Masters Degree in Composition for Film & TV at the London College of Music and Media.

Mark has also studied Engineering Acoustics at University and gained a Law Degree. He has given about 10 years of his life to a Housing charity, working with many of the less privileged members of society, the mentally ill, drug and alcohol users and offenders. Currently, Mark lives in Surrey, UK with his fantastic wife and an ever-hungry cat.
